The 16′ Hazelnut is based on the 17′ version but has been drawn up with the clinker/ply construction method in mind using a building jig and moulds to gain the plank shapes. She has 5 planks per side.The plank shapes and building details are also given for stitch and tape construction. The canoe is exactly 16′ long which means, if you use standard 8′ (2440mm) long plywood, the planks will need 3 joins in them. She has much the same characteristics of being a stable and excellent load carrier with a reasonable rocker making maneuvering easier, as the 17′ Hazelnut – jusy t in a slightly shorter length.
